Steven kardeşe başka nasıl sorulabilir abi :D
bugünden de sordum dünden de
* Let’s start with the most recent. You’ve just released your book “My Appetite for Destruction: Sex, Drugs and Guns N’ Roses”. I ordered a copy from amazon.com and can’t wait to read it. Will we be able to see a Turkish version of it? Are you in contact with any Turkish publishers?
* Have you received any reactions from Axl, Slash, Duff or Izzy about your book? I am yet to read it, but as far as I know it mainly covers your Guns N’ Roses days and there must be comments, memories (or even confessions) about your old mates. Have they contacted you after you released the book?
* You’ve been touring with Adler’s Appetite for quite sometime and you’ve visited Istanbul in the past. Any plans to come to Turkey again? Or let’s turn this question into an invitation. We would be very happy to see to you back in Istanbul and, as GNRTurkey.net, would spend every effort to promote your gig and gather up an enthusiastic crowd.
* About Adler’s Appetite, do you have any good news for the fans? I know that you’re working on an instructional drum DVD and you’ve just released a single “Alive” which is being filmed; is there a full album to come?
* I suppose you must be tired of answering the breakup questions which, I guess, have been asked to you for million times. Let me be the last one asking this; how did you feel when you learnt that you would not be playing for Guns N’ Roses any more?
* What do you think about the reunion talks? I’ve recently read somewhere that you are very positive about this but the main issue that would keep you from reuniting is Axl who you believe would in no case say “yes”. Is it true? Or maybe I should put it this way. Would you say OK if one day Axl called you up and said “man, let’s do it!”?
* Even if the reunion does not happen (personally, I don’t think it would ever be happening), would you consider getting together with your old mates Slash and Duff? I mean, you played the drums for “Starlight” and “Baby Can’t Drive” in Slash’s solo album and it was a kick-ass job! Duff also contributed to his album. Is this a sign of a sort of a reunion? Maybe, something like Velvet Revolver which, I personally think, would have been very different, if you had been there!
* Rockers’ motto “Sex, Drugs and Rock N’ Roll” used to perfectly suit your life. I mean, three suicide attempts, two heart attacks, many years of drug addiction, days in jail, etc. I know that, for the last two years, you are really pushing hard to be sober and to gain your health again. From where I see, you seem pretty healthy, for which I am extremely happy. I really hope you left all those behind. How is your health, do you feel reborn?
* As part of your efforts to get over drug addiction, you participated in “Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew” and “Sober House”. Do you regret being there? I was very upset about seeing one of my five heroes in these MTV-style TV shows. Well, you know, millions of people criticizing you..
* Did the fact that you are sober now have any effect on your relationship with your old mates? You seem to have repaired your relationships with most of them. I mean, you played a one-off show with Izzy Stradlin and Slash at the Key Club in Los Angeles in 2005 if I am not mistaken. You also had a contact with Axl in 2006 during a Guns N' Roses show in Las Vegas and as I mention above you played the drums for Slash. How about Duff? Have you recently seen him?
* Speaking of the old mates, Matt got in after your departure and this started the endless discussion of Steven vs. Matt among the fans. Well, I believe it’s no fair to compare the two of you. Your style is way too different. I remember Izzy speaking of you: “His sense of swing was the push and pull that gave those songs their feel, afterwards, nothing worked”. This, I would sign underneath! Matt’s more a machine than a human drummer. The perfect song he would fit into is “You Could Be Mine” with its speedy, constant rhythm. What do you think about him?
* Have you listened to any of the tracks on “Chinese Democracy”? What do you think about the whole album? I loved it very much. Many people think that the album’s main deficiency is Slash’s absence on the lead guitar. I don’t think so. Ron, Buckethead and Fortus did a great job, but the album absolutely lacks Duff’s bass and your drums!
* Let’s move to the fun part of this interview.. Just before contacting you, I took a poll on the GNRTurkey’s website and Facebook to see what Turkish fans wonder about you most. Surprisingly, I received many questions asking if you would ever consider having your hair cut. Personally, I would go mad if you did it. Your shiny yellow hair always reminded the great glam rock era. What would you say?
* I’ve heard that your nickname “Popcorn” comes from your blond hair that bounced up and down when you played the drums. Is this trues? Who found the nick?
* Anything you’d like to say to all of your fans in Turkey at the moment?
